Barack Obama's previously opened up about having "bonus time" with Michelle Obama and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, amid the pandemic.
"To be together as a family and see how they've become these marvellous young women – there's been no greater joy than that," he said of Malia and Sasha in an interview with People.
Now, reflecting on the pandemic once more on The Bill Simmons Podcast, the former president revealed he also allowed 22-year-old Malia's boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, who she's been linked to since 2017, reports E! News, stay with them.
"He's British, wonderful young man. And he was sort of stuck because there was a whole visa thing and he had a job set up, so we took him in," Barack said. "And I didn't want to like him, but he's a good kid."
The 59-year-old said there was one problem Rory posed though.
"This is not a surprise to you Bill because you've got a son, [but] young men eat like - it's weird to watch them consume food," Barack said. "And my grocery bill went up about thirty per cent."
