  • Charisma Carpenter is speaking out against Joss Whedon who she says  "abused his power" on the set of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
  • The allegations come following Ray Fisher's firing from The Flash movie after he too made allegations against the Justice League director.
  • Since Charisma's statement, Buffy actors Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michelle Trachtenberg and Amber Benson have also spoken out.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star, Charisma Carpenter is accusing creator Joss Whedon of creating toxic and hostile work environments on set.

The director, who also worked on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Justice League - in the past he was accused by Ray Fisher of "gross, abusive, unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour" on the set of the 2017 superhero film – "abused his power," says Charisma.

She wrote in a lengthy statement shared on social media with the caption "My truth. #IStandWithRayFisher" of his "ongoing passaive-aggressive threats" to fire her.

Charisma said Joss called her "fat" on set when she was four months pregnant. "He requested a meeting with me. In that closed-door meeting, he asked me if I was "going to keep it" and manipulatively weaponised my womanhood and faith against me. He proceeded to attack my character, mock my religious beliefs, accuse me of sabotaging the show, and then unceremoniously fired me the following season once I gave birth," she said.

Fellow Buffy stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michelle Trachtenberg and Amber Benson have since spoken out.

"While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don't want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon," the Buffy leading lady wrote in a statement on Instagram. "I stand with all survivors of abuse and am proud of them for speaking out."

Michelle Trachtenberg reposted the statement with the caption: "Thank you @sarahmgellar for saying this.

"I am brave enough now as a 35 year old woman....To repost this. Because. This must. Be known. As a teenager. With his not appropriate behavior....very. Not. Appropriate. So now. People know. What Joss. Did. [sic]"

She later updated the statement saying connoting to an unnamed incident. "The last. Comment I will make on this. Was. There was a rule. Saying. He's not allowed in a room alone with Michelle again," she wrote.

Amber Benson quoted Charisma's statement on Twitter, writing: "Buffy was a toxic environment and it starts at the top. @AllCharisma is speaking truth and I support her 100%. There was a lot of damage done during that time and many of us are still processing it twenty plus years later. #IStandWithRayFisher #IStandWithCharismaCarpenter."
