British comedian Eddie Izzard says she wants "to be based in girl mode from now on".
The 58-year-old made the announcement on the Sky Arts series Portrait Artist Of The Year last week in which she described herself as gender-fluid and said she has chosen to use the pronouns "she" and "her", reports Sky News.
The actor received praise from LGBT charity Stonewall, reports The Guardian. Associate director of communications and campaigns Robbie de Santos said: "We're delighted that Eddie has been able to bravely share her truth with the world.
"Being open about using different pronouns is often incredibly difficult, especially in the public eye – her courageous decision will mean a lot to trans and gender-fluid communities around the world."
The news comes shortly after Elliot Page thanked his fans for their "love and support" after coming out as transgender earlier this month.
