Kanye West has taken to social media once again, this time, to apologise to wife, Kim Kardashian.

Since announcing his bid to run for president, the rapper has had a tumultuous few weeks culminating in an emotional rally at which he confessed he and Kim thought about aborting daughter, North West.

Shortly after, the fashion mogul went on several Twitter rants which included him saying the reality star was trying to get a doctor to lock him up, and that he'd been trying to divorce her for the past two years.

Kim didn't respond to any divorce rumours, but she did ask for "compassion and empathy" for Kanye, as he struggles to cope with his mental health.

"We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most," she wrote on her Instagram Stories, though sources close to the couple said she was understandably "upset".

"She feels that it's disrespectful, not only to her, but her family. She feels that she has been nothing but respectful to him throughout their marriage. She has stood beside him again and again, no matter how ridiculous it seemed," an insider told People.

Now, Kanye has gone on Twitter to ask Kim for forgiveness.

"I would like to apologise to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter," he tweeted. "I did not cover her like she has covered me."

He added: "To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me."

Despite rumours that he has dropped out of the 2020 presidential race, the 43-year-old also tweeted with his #2020VISION: "CAN BEAT BIDEN OFF OF WRITE INS," all the while promoting his new album, Donda.
