  • Now, a source says Lily was "shocked when she saw the photos and his story that he is happily married".

Lily James is completely "mortified" by the whole Dominic West scandal.

In case you missed it, Lily and Dominic were spotted cosying up to one another in Italy about two weeks ago. They took a romantic scooter ride through Rome before the 51-year-old was seen caressing and kissing the Rebbeca star. Dominic, however, has been married to Catherine Fitzgerald for ten years, and shares four children with the landscape designer and aristocrat.

The Affair actor (ironic, we know) and his wife put on a strong front outside their home in Cotswold after the news broke, holding and kissing each other before sharing a note with paparazzi that read: "Our marriage is strong and we're very much still together. Thank you."

Now, a source close to the Mamma Mia! actress tells E! News: "She's mortified and embarrassed by the entire thing.

"She was shocked when she saw the photos and his story that he is happily married."

They add: "She wants it all to go away and is just laying low hoping it will pass quickly."

After photos of the two in Italy surfaced, Lily cancelled her Today show appearance but did appear on The Tonight Show this week. But the only rumours she addressed were ones about a few more Mamma Mia! films.
