2020 may have delivered blow after blow, but it's just given us the gift of People's Sexiest Man Alive – Michael B Jordan.

The actor takes over the title from John Legend, whose predecessor was Idris Elba. On his new title, the Black Panther star tells People: "It's a cool feeling. You know, everybody always made that joke, like, 'Mike, this is the one thing you're probably not going to get.' But it's a good club to be a part of."

Michael says it's the women in his family that'll "definitely proud of this one". "When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. This is one that they're definitely going to have a special place for."

The actor says 10 years from now he hopes to be "maybe directing a little more, acting less, producing a lot more" – his next big role will be a former Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative in Tom Clancy's Without Remorse.

The 33-year-old's also been doing a lot of work behind the scenes with his company, Outlier Society Productions, the first to adopt an inclusion rider, which mandates that filmmakers enlist a diverse cast and crew, while remaining active in the Black Lives Matter movement.

"I think there's a time and a place for everything," he tells People. "I've been picking my moments to make the most impact. We can all take action – big or small – to help create the change we want to see."
