Singer Ann Marie (Joann Marie Slater) has been booked into jail and charged with possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a shooting at a hotel in Buckhead, Georgia on 1 December, reports People.
According to CBS 46, police responded when gunshots went off at the hotel. When they arrived, they found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. Though he was responsive at first and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, he was later declared to be in critical condition.
The Secret singer alleged "a gun fell off of a table in the hotel room which caused the gun to go off hitting the victim". Police say she was distraught and kept asking if the victim was alive - she was later removed from the hotel room.
According to the Chicago-based singer, the two were childhood friends and visiting Atlanta together when the incident happened.
No further details were provided by police, but Ann Marie has since been booked at the Fulton County Jail.
