Snoop Dogg mourns the death of his mother

Rapper Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) is mourning the death of his mother, Beverly Tate.

The star has shared a series of posts on his Instagram account, paying tribute to him mom.

Snoop first shared the sad news on Sunday, captioning one photo: "Mama thank u for having me [sic]."

In another post, he wrote: "Thank u god for giving me an angel for a mother [sic]."

While in a third, he shared the words: "Till. We. Meet. Again."

In a video shared on Monday, Snoop is seen on stage at an event. "Before we leave, we gonna play this record for my mama," he says before playing Ben E. King's Stand By Me and encouraging the crowd to sing along. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Snoop had previously opened up about his mother's health struggles, posting a photo of her in hospital in July. 

"Happy Sunday me and my brothers went to c mama today and she opened her eyes to c us and let us know she still fighting [sic]," he said at the time.
