South Korean actor, Song Yoo-jung has died. She was 26 years old.
Her agency, Sublime Artist Agency, confirmed the news on Monday saying: "Actress Song Yoo-jung has left us."
"Yoo-jung was a friend who always gave us happiness with a bright smile, and an awesome actress who acted with a passion bigger than anyone," they shared on Instagram.
According to CNN, Song began her career as a model for Estée Lauder before going on to star in the TV series Golden Rainbow. In 2019 she starred in the romantic fantasy drama Dear My Name.
The statement did not share a cause of death, but a quiet funeral service took place after she died on Saturday, 23 January.
The news comes as concern continues to mount for young performers and their mental health in the South Korean entertainment industry. In 2017, K-pop superstar Kim Jong-hyun, better known as Jonghyun, died by suicide at 27, in 2019 singer Sulli, formerly of the band f(x), was found dead at the age of 25, so too was fellow K-pop group Kara's Goo Hara at 28 years old.
