Cape Town – Anne Hathaway has opened up about her highly private life at home with her husband, Adam Shulman, and their 2-year-old Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Oceans 8 actress opened up about her parenting style, saying that she has values she tries to stick to but is only human at the end of the day.

“I’m not perfect, but if I’m frustrated or distracted, I'm good at making sure he’s safe and walking away, calming down and then coming back to him… I fall short every day, but I’m not going to beat myself up about it, I’m going to learn from it.”

According to E! News, the one thing Anne is focusing on is how she communicates with her toddler – a tip she picked up from British royals the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The couple – who have three children: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and 9-month-old Prince Louis – have long advocated the importance of mental health and communication.

Revealing what she learned about William and Kate’s parenting skills, Anne said: “They get down on the child's level and speak to them eye to eye to make their child feel empowered. I thought that was really cool. I started doing that with Jonathan.”

Perhaps Prince Harry and Meghan will turn to the royal couple for some tips when their bundle of joy arrives, too.
