Cape Town – Hollywood star Gerard Butler was recently spotted in Cape Town and we think we might just have figured out why he was visiting our shores.
The 50-year-old star shared a photo on his Instagram of himself in the Mother City and captioned it: "Epic start to 2020. Loved visiting Cape Town."

Just a few weeks later Windhoek released their latest ad and it stars none other than the Angel Has Fallen actor.
"Windhoek champions those who stay true to themselves. Those who show up, in their most authentic self. Those who know what’s important. Those who keep it real. We found these qualities in Gerard Butler, and we were thrilled that he felt an immediate synergy with what our brand stands for," said Senior Brand Manager, Maggie Wang, about the star's role in the Namibian beer brand's new ad.
According to Gerard he decided to take on the project because he "loved the script" and "found it very funny". He added: "The humour was right up my alley."
In the short ad created by LittleBig and directed by Rob Smith, a group of guys are standing in a bar when one of them, Joe is his name, asks for a lime.
"Hey!" calls Butler, before slowing turning around from his bar stool. "That’s a Windhoek," he says, suspense building in the air.
"That’s 100% pure beer. You don’t need any lime. See for yourself."
Joe takes a sip. "You know what, I’m good," he tells the waiter.
His friends applaud him, Gerard turns back around.
"Keep it real, Joe," he says to the camera. "Keep it real."
