Meghan Markle has made her first daytime TV appearance on an episode on The Ellen DeGeneres Show's final season.

On Wednesday, the talk show released a sneak peek of the episode in which the 41-year-old described how she attended auditions at the Warner Bros lot – where the show is filmed - and climbed through the boot to get in her car.

In her first interview since her and Prince Harry's tell-all with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex gave an update on Archie and Lily, life in California and more.

On life in California, Meghan said that Harry loves it, "we moved here during lockdown. We've been able to spend a lot of time at home, creating our home. I think it's just the lifestyle; the weather is pretty great we're just happy."

The mom of two also shared that 5-month old Lili is teething and that Archie loves being a big brother sharing a snapshot of the two-year-old feeding his chickens.

"Someone, told H and I that when you have one kid, it's a hobby, and two children is parenting. Suddenly we realised, 'oh right', everyone talks about what it's like for the second child, but no one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along."

She added: "I think they have that moment of, 'oh, this is fun, oh, this is how it is now'."

The duchess, who recently wrote an open letter to US Congress advocating for paid family leave, also addressed its importance during the episode.

"Everyone knows, especially if you have a child, you know how hard it is and how critical it is in those first few weeks if not months to be together as a final. And the fact that we don't offer that here, that now as a mom of two, I will do everything that I can to make sure that we implement that," said Meghan.

Elsewhere in the episode, Meghan tapped into her funny side by pranking unsuspecting vendors on the Warner Bros lot.

Wearing a hidden earpiece, she had to follow instructions given by Ellen, which included eating like a chipmunk, drinking milk from a bottle and tasting hot sauce while adding, "My boo loves hot sauce."
