It's been revealed Prince Philip is an avid reader and has an extensive "library" of books covering UFOs after his uncle wrote a full report of a flying saucer on his estate.
According to The Sun, Lord Mountbatten's report spoke of a flying saucer landing on his Broadlands estate in Romsey, Hampshire, after a bricklayer, Fred Briggs spotted it in 1955.
The report claims Briggs saw a flying saucer hover above the ground before a man dressed in overalls and a helmet emerged, reports Vanity Fair. Briggs was knocked off his bike shortly after and pinned down by an "unseen force".
Having read The Halt Perspective – which covers the stories of a series of UFO sightings and unexplained lights that took place on two U.S. airbases in England in 1980 – last summer, His Royal Highness received a second book by John Hanson, Haunted Skies: The Encyclopedia of British UFOs.
Brigadier Archie Miller-Bakewell, Prince Philip's private secretary, wrote to Hanson: "His Royal Highness will add this copy to his collection. It will make a most welcome addition to his library."
