Princess Charlotte made a rare appearance over the weekend as she wished the Lionesses – England's women's national football team – luck for the Euro 2022 finals on Sunday.

"Good luck! I hope you win. Bye!" a sweet Charlotte said – and it paid off, with the soccer team beating Germany 2-1 after extra time.

William congratulated the team in person as he was present at the stadium, while Queen Elizabeth sent her "warmest congratulations" to the women.

"Your success goes far beyond the trophy you have so deservedly earned. You have all set an example that will be an inspiration for girls and women today, and for future generations. It is my hope that you will be as proud of the impact you have had on your sport as you are of the result today," she said.

The Duchess of Cambridge was not in attendance on Sunday as she carried out royal duties in the historic naval town of Plymouth in Devon, where she met with young people participating in the 1851 Trust's activities to promote sustainability.

Later, she took to the waters in the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix, for which she changed out of her nautical-inspired outfit into a wetsuit!

"Taking to the water with @benainslie and the @sailgpgbr team, it's clear that the world's first climate positive sport is fast, frenetic and fiercely competitive!" the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote alongside a series of photos of Kate.
