Princess Eugenie gives birth to a baby boy

  • This is the princess and husband Jack Brooksbank's first baby.
  • "Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," the royal family said in a statement.


Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie on Tuesday morning gave birth to a baby boy.

According to a statement by the royal family the princess gave birth at 08:55 at The Portland Hospital to a baby boy weighing 8lbs 1oz (3,6kg).

Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank was present at the birth.

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news," the royal statement read.

"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

This is Princess Eugenie and Jack’s first child and Queen Elizabeth’s ninth great-grandchild.

The princess also shared her own announcement on her Instagram account with a black-and-white photo.
