Former Isidingo actor Motlatsi Mafatshe and former Isibaya actor Zinhle Mabena star in one of Mzansi Magic's (DStv 161) upcoming original films premiering at the weekend.
Beng'shadelani (why did I get married) premieres on Saturday, 8 October at 20:30. It is the second movie to premiere in the timeslot this month, as the channel moves to "strengthen" the 20:30 slot to make it a "time to kick back and enjoy homegrown original movies after a long week."
"Tumelo and his wife, Nomusa, are a far cry from the affectionate, happy couple that they used to be," a press statement reads. "Now, after many years of marriage and one child later, they can hardly even stand being in the same room together."
Ziyawa KgaGogo (it's a party at granny's house) premieres a week later, on 15 October. The movie stars Sipho Dladla, Aubrey Mogwatlhe, David Legodi and Thandeka Msibi.
"Two brothers, long past their prime and on the brink of homelessness, secretly plan an epic house party to raise funds," the press statement continues. "The aim? To save their family home – against their scornful older sister's wishes."
The other two movies to premiere on the channel in October are Inhlanhla (luck) and Mina Nabangani Bam (my friends and I). The two films will air on 22 and 29 October at 20:30, respectively.
Inhlanhla, featuring Gomora actor Ayanda Saweti, Bontle Serai, media personality Zola Hashatsi, Mbalenhle Zakwe and Madibe Mahlatjie, is about an Uber driver who embarks on a series of misadventures as he desperately tries to return a bag left behind by a girl who caught his attention.
