When Anna Wyncomb is introduced to an underground, all-female fight club, she discovers she is much more personally connected to the club's history than she could ever imagine. The slick and gritty, female-driven comedy, Chick Fight, will release as a cinema premiere on DStv Box Office on Monday 1 March.

The film follows Anna (Malin Akerman) as she navigates a challenging juncture in her life. Her mom has died, and she's just discovered that her loving and supportive father is gay, which she totally supports. Then, she accidentally burns down her uninsured coffee shop.

Her best friend Charleen (Dulcé Sloan) takes Anna to an all-women underground fight club where Anna meets an eclectic cast of characters, including most brutally efficient fighter of the club, Olivia (Bella Thorne), who becomes a rival in and out of the ring. With the help of reclusive trainer Jack Murphy (Alec Baldwin), Anna slowly rediscovers herself, her inner strength and real purpose.

"Chick Fight carries a message that we can all take something from these days – if you learn to fight and never give up in the ring, then you'll always beat the sh*t out of life!" said director  Paul Leyden.
