Dwayne Johnson announces Jungle Cruise sequel

It's official, Disney's Jungle Cruise is getting a sequel.

Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt will reprise their roles as skipper Frank Wolff and Dr Lily Houghton.

The Baywatch actor confirmed reports on Tuesday with a video on Instagram. Alongside it, he wrote: "So cool and honoured to officially announce our Jungle Cruise sequel. Thank you, guys, around the world, for turning Jungle Cruise into a franchise. The intrepid Dr Lily Houghton and fearless-ish Skipper Frank, aka the pun-slinger, return to take you all on the adventure of a lifetime."


The film based on a 1950s theme park ride premiered in cinemas and on Disney+ in August.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie crossed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office this past weekend. Worldwide it has grossed $187 million.
