Jared Leto is set to star in a Tron sequel directed by Garth Davis (Lion) for Disney, reports Deadline.
This will be the third instalment of the franchise.
The original 1982 film starred Jeff Bridges as a video game designer who is transported inside the computer program. In 2010 Disney revived it with a 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy with Jeff reprising his role as Kevin Flynn.
According to the publication, Jesse Wigutow has written the most recent draft of the script with Jared set to produce alongside Justin Springer and Emma Ludbrook.
Jared confirmed the news on Twitter. He wrote: "I'm struck with such gratitude for the opportunity to bring this movie to life, especially as both the original video game and the film affected me so deeply as a young child. The fact that I get to be a part of this new chapter is mind-blowing.
"I am so very excited and proud to confirm that yes - I will be starring in TRON."
