Get ready for another big fat Greek wedding!

On Thursday, cast member Nia Vardalos announced that the third instalment of the romantic comedy had begun filming in Greece.

In the video Vardalos, who plays the lead character Fotoula "Toula" Portokalos, revealed that she will be directing the film.

"Thank you to Playtone, Gold Circle, HBO and Focus! And much love and gratitude to you all for your support as we waited to film. Greece baby. Greece!" she captioned the post.

The original 2002 film followed Toula, a Greek American woman who falls in love with a non-Greek man Ian Miller (John Corbett). The film was nominated at the 75th Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay.

In the 2016 sequel, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Toula and Ian's marriage was going through a rough patch. At the same time, Toula's parents, Gus (Michael Constantine) and Maria's (Lainie Kazan) marriage certificate was never signed, which led to them getting remarried.

While details of the plot are under wraps, a source told Deadline that Toula and Ian's daughter Paris will tie the knot.
