British actors will not be able to audition for the role of Prince William in the upcoming royal film, Spencer.
The film directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie) and starring Kirsten Stewart is set in the early 1990s and centres on three days during the Christmas holidays when Diana decided to end her marriage with Prince Charles.
A casting call of the film posted by Amy Hubbard - the casting director - is looking for boys between nine and 12 years old to play young Prince William. The notice stipulates that only European passport holders can apply due to the new Brexit rules that will come into effect from 1 January 2021.

In another tweet, Amy later explained that it is common practice that the passport for main characters match that of the film's financiers.

According to The Guardian the movie will be filmed in Germany for three months early next year.
