Pamela Anderson is ready to tell the 'real story' about her life in a documentary feature for Netflix.

On Wednesday, the streaming service announced that the definitive documentary about the Baywatch actor had been years in the making.

The film directed by Ryan White (The Keepers, Ask Dr Ruth) will feature exclusive access to Anderson and never before seen archive footage and personal journals.

The 54-year-old shared the news of the project on Instagram with a picture of a handwritten note which reads: "My life/A thousand imperfections/A million misperceptions/wicked, wild and lost/Nothing to live up to/I can only surprise you/Not a victim, but a survivor/& alive to tell the real story."

A limited series, Pam & Tommy is currently streaming on Hulu. The show starring Lily James as Anderson and Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee centres on the couple's stolen and then leaked sex tape.

Last year Anderson's friend Courtney Love slammed the show and called it 'so outrageous'.
