Patty Jenkins was named one of the Associated Press' 2017 breakthroughs. Wonder Woman became one of the most successful live-action films ever directed by a woman and went on to make $821.8 million (R12.5 billion) at the box office.

That same year the 49-year-old was Number 7 on Time Magazine's Person of the Year list for "redefining how the world sees women".

Now, three years later, she returns to helm the Wonder Woman sequel which she also co-wrote and produced.
