Ryan Reynolds says Jodie Comer is like Meryl Streep: She's one of those one-in-a-billion actors

Ryan Reynolds has compared his Free Guy co-star, Jodie Comer, to Meryl Streep.

The actor, 44, says he was blown away with Jodie's acting skills from the first moment she auditioned and says she's easily comparable to the Oscar-winning actress.

"I remember breaking the scene after Jodie’s first three lines and looking over at Shawn to make sure that he was watching because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing," Ryan said.

He added: "She took it to a whole new level. Jodie is one of those one-in-a-billion actors. She can do anything and be anything. Her on her worst day is like me at my peak.

"I hate to use this term but she has the X-factor. Working with her felt like working with Meryl Streep at the beginning of her career."

Jodie, 27, is perhaps best known for her role as Oksana Astankova/Villanelle in Killing Eve. She was was born in Liverpool and started her acting career in 2008 with a guest role on an episode of The Royal Today, which is a spin-off series of the British medical drama, The Royal.

The release of Free Guy has been pushed back several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
