New photos of Zack Snyder's Justice League have been released.

The never-before-seen black and white images feature Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Amber Heard. The most eye-catching among them is Jared Leto as a biblical Joker wearing a crown of thorns.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, it is revealed that the filmmaker never sat through the 2017 film which he started but was completed by Joss Whedon after he stepped down due to a family tragedy.

After seeing a private screener, his wife and producer Deborah Snyder and executive producer Christopher Nolan advised him never to watch the film.

"They came, and they just said, 'You can never see that movie'," Snyder told the publication.

About what fans can expect from the movie Anthony Breznican writes that Synder is going "deep as he likes".

"He has put Superman in a sleek black suit instead of the iconic blue and red. He's added the Joker (Jared Leto). He has reshot the ending with a hero cameo that will blow hard-core fans' minds."

The film premieres on HBO Max in the US on 18 March.
