Cape Town – The South African born stuntwoman, Olivia Jackson, who was injured in a horrific accident on the set of Resident Evil is on the road to recovery.
Olivia sustained multiple injuries when she "collided with a camera crane while performing a motorcycle stunt" during filming in Johannesburg.
She suffered serious injuries to her face, head and shoulder, and her left arm was amputated as a result of the accident.
Olivia has shared pictures of her recovery on Instagram.
In one picture she reveals that her spine is twisted, she a has a twisted shoulder blade, a permanently dislocated shoulder, and muscle atrophy.
Scew much? ?? This is the twisted upper body I'm left with from my accident. Scew spine, off-centered neck (the most painful part), twisted shoulder blade, permanently dislocated shoulder, 1 arm, muscle atrophy on the left hand side of my core & plenty more other treats ?? I don't mean to moan, but sometimes I just want to crawl out of my own skin & all the pains in it #thankgoodnessImnotmodellinganymore #2spinalops=bigscar
In earlier posts she detailed her difficult journey from learning to walk again to having her arm amputated.
The exciting life of the disabled...everyday 1hr physio to try get my neck & chest working, training for the rest of my body, eat some nerve pain drugs, visit a doctor of some sorts, sleep, repeat. Damn this is boring & definitely NOT the high adrenaline life that I normally live ?? With persistence and patience I will eventually get where I wanna go! I could never do this without my team @davegstunts @perfectbalanceclinic @stevegranthealth and all my beautiful friends & family ?? #andofcoursemymotocrew #patience #persistence #excitinglife
Olivia was a stuntwoman for actress Milla Jovovich in the action film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. She also performed stunts for the movies Mad Max: Fury Road and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
