Suri Cruise, the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, covers Blue Moon in the opening credits of her mom's new film Alone Together.
Alone Together was written, directed and stars Katie Holmes – as well as Jim Sturgess, Derek Luke and Zosia Mamet – with a synopsis that reads: "Two strangers wind up double-booked in the same upstate New York rental during the start of Covid-19. Exasperating the situation, the lockdown forces them both to stay and confront the unexpected feelings that develop between them."
In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, the actor said she decided to recruit Suri because: "I always want the highest level of talent."
She said of the 16-year-old: "She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing."
The star revealed Suri also lent her voice on the soundtrack of Rare Objects, another one of Holmes' upcoming projects, based on the 2016 bestseller by Kathleen Tessaro.
"Other than that," Holmes quipped, "she's a 16-year-old kid doing high school."
Alone Together released in the US in July. A South African release date has not yet been set.
