Mary J. Blige as Dinah Washington gives Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin some tough love in the new teaser for Respect.

In December a 44-second teaser showed of Jennifer belting out the Queen of Soul's hit song.

In the new clip released after the 38-year-old's performance at Sunday's virtual BET Awards, we see more scenes in the upcoming movie which releases in cinemas 5 February 2021.

From Aretha as a child, to young come up artist, to her work in the Civil Rights Movement.

The biopic directed by Liesl Tommy will centre on her rise to fame from singing as a child in her father's choir to becoming a music superstar.

Other cast members include Forest Whitaker, Audra McDonald, Marlon Wayans and Tituss Burgess.

This is not the only upcoming Aretha Franklin project Cynthia Erivo will also play her in the National Geographic anthology series Genius: Aretha.
