Netflix has released the first trailer for Ryan Murphy's star-studded adaptation of the Broadway musical, The Prom.
Dancing, singing, sparkles and even a heart-warming story, the 2-minute clip is just a small taste of what's to come.
The movie centres on actors Dee Dee Allen (Meryl Streep) and Barry Glickman (James Corden) whose new Broadway musical is a flop. When they find out that a high school student Emma Nolan (Jo Ellen Pellman) has been banned by the head of the PTA (Kerry Washington) from attending prom with her girlfriend, the pair hit the road with two other jaded actors (Nicole Kidman and Andrew Rannells) to offer her their support.
"But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is," reads the official synopsis.
