  • We caught up with South African actress and star of The Kissing Booth 2, Meganne Young.
  • Meganne said she was so happy to be back home to film the movie - she particularly misses our Franschhoek wines.
  • Commenting on the recently announced third movie, she said viewers could expect "some incredible scenes". "I am so excited for everyone to see it," she gushed.

The Kissing Booth 2 premiered on Netflix on 24 July – and the stars of the hit teen movie wasted no time sharing that they'd actually completed filming for a third film!

The Kissing Booth 3 will premiere on the streaming service in 2021.

I recently caught up with South African actress Meganne Young to see if I could get her to spill the tea.

"It was the hardest secret to keep. I'm the worst. I just want to babble all the information. So I'm so happy we finally announced it. So now I can just say: 'Yeah, we have a third one.'"

Meganne said she couldn't say much about The Kissing Booth 3 yet, but added: "What I can say is everyone was impressed by the second one and that it just builds on the first one. And I think the third one is going to do that again. There are some incredible scenes and I am so excited for everyone to see it."

Meganne, who grew up in Cape Town before recently relocating to Vancouver, said she missed her family and friends – and "the wine" in Franschhoek – so she was happy to be back home to film.

Meganne plays Rachel in the movie franchise – girlfriend to Lee (Joel Courtney), who often finds herself being the third wheel in Lee and Elle's (Joey King) friendship.

But despite their on-screen squabbles, Meganne said: "She (Joey) feels like a sister to me."

And as for the ongoing Team Noah/Team Marco debate, well, Meganne said she was "Team Lee all the way."
