Gal Gadot returns as Diana Price for the final chapter in the Wonder Woman franchise.

Variety reported that Warner Bros. fast-tracked development on the third instalment of the superhero trilogy.

"As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able continue her story with our real life Wonder Women  - Gal and Patty -who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy," said a statement released by Warner Media. 

The announcement follows the release of Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel which debuted on HBO Max service on 25 December and selected cinemas.

Warner Bros. said the third Wonder Woman movie will have a traditional theatrical release.
