In March 2020, South Africa entered a hard lockdown as the country prepared to battle Covid-19. People were urged to stay home with the hope of "flattening the curve", while several restrictions were put in place in an attempt to prevent the rapid spread of the virus.
The entertainment industry felt the sting immediately, as concert halls, comedy clubs, and theatres shut their doors.
