The Weeknd has revealed some of the songs and artists he has taken inspiration from as he heads into his new era of music.  

In case you missed it, the star has now moved on from his After Hours era, releasing a new track called Take My Breath.  

In the lead up to the new release, the singer cleared his Instagram account of all posts before sharing posts linked to his new track.  

Now, on an episode of Apple Music 1 radio show Memento Mori, the Blinding Lights singer revealed some of the tracks he has taken inspiration from for his new work, according to Billboard

A playlist shared by The Weeknd on the Apple Music show included Toxic and Everytime by Britney Spears, as well as songs by Kanye West, Nas and Swedish House Mafia. 

In the episode, The Weeknd revealed that he is almost done with his upcoming project and just doing some "final tweaks".
