Johannesburg - Disney Africa and FNB are bringing a series of family-oriented live events over the next year to South Africa. The first of these events will be Disney’s The Lion King Live In Concert that will play to Gauteng audiences this festive season. Ahead of the event local veteran actor, John Kani - who voiced Rafiki in the recently released Disney live-action film - told Channel24 what fans can expect from the show.

The blockbuster movie also features the voices of artists such as James Earl-Jones, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Beyoncé, bringing the unforgettable host of characters to life.

The Lion King will be brought to an even more epic scale for local audiences as it’s screened and accompanied live by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The action, adventure and wild excitement of the 2019 film will be coming to The Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on 10, 11 and 12 December 2019, in a perfectly synchronised live orchestral performance.

The show will combine the screening of the movie with live orchestral performance award-winning composer Hans Zimmer’s original motion picture soundtrack that also features South African legend Lebo M.

Tickets are now on sale via Computicket with prices starting from R200 per person.
