Music festivals - once something we looked forward to with great fondness. The live performances, the crowds, the sunshine and the food, we loved it all. Now, it seems like nothing but a distant memory as South Africa's events industry battles to keep its head above water.

I remember getting the call from a representative for Rocking the Daisies - one of SA's largest music festivals. This year's show has been cancelled, she explained, the sadness in her voice almost tangible. Despite all their efforts, organisers could just not make it work - not with the coronavirus still looming.
