  • GoodLuck will be hosting their first rooftop concert with a live audience since the beginning of lockdown.
  • The show will also serve as a celebration for lead singer Juliet's birthday.
  • While they had initially planned to sell tickets, Gordin's Gin eventually came on board, taking on the bill and making the event free to attend.

Cape Town-based band GoodLuck are celebrating a return to live music with the first rooftop concert performed for a live audience at a physical venue since the beginning of lockdown.

The concert, which will take place on 12 September at Harald's Rooftop Bar at the Park Inn, also marks the birthday of the group's lead singer, Juliet Harding.

While GoodLuck had initially planned to sell tickets to the live event, Gordin's Gin eventually jumped on board, taking on the bill, and making the event free to all.

"It's my birthday and needless to say I REALLY need a reason to celebrate! This year has been tough on us all, so I think it's awesome to be able to host a concert to remind us how life is meant to be lived - enjoying the best moments with the people who you love! I can't wait to connect with some of our fans in person again, it's going to be so much fun!" Juliet said in a press statement.

The event, which will also be streamed online, will be open to a small audience "in order to comply with COVID-19 regulations".

"GoodLuck will bring a limited group of fans a fully-fledged live concert production at the Rooftop venue, with incredible lighting & sound, pyrotechnics and mesmerising FX. With new and old hit songs, streamed straight to your living rooms or patios via the HD stream, this promises to be a celebration of Cape Town music culture at it's very best. OR if you are lucky enough to get your hands on one of the limited attendance tickets, you will get to be a part of the magic in person," the statement further explains.
