Celebrity guests, royalty, world leaders and more will come together on 8 May for Global Citizen's VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.

The concert, which "aims to inspire vaccine confidence worldwide and help get the Covid-19 vaccines to everyone, everywhere", according to a previous statement made by Global Citizen, via People, will see the likes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as US President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

The event will be hosted by Selena Gomez and include performances from Jennifer Lopez, H.E.R., the Foo Fighters and more, with appearances by Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, David Letterman, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel, Nomzamo Mbatha, Olivia Munn and Sean Penn.

Harry and Meghan, who have been raising funds for the vaccine-sharing programme COVAX, are campaign chairs of the event and will see the couple deliver an important global message for vaccine equity, while helping ensure equitable access to the vaccine during the event.

The concert will also see Global Citizen ask philanthropists and corporations to donate "dollars-for-doses" to vaccinate healthcare workers, while pleading with world leaders to pledge $22.1 billion in order "to get two billion Covid-19 vaccine doses, tests and treatments to the world's poorest countries by the end of 2021".

The event, which will be pre-taped at SoFi stadium, will be available to stream on YouTube.
