  • Little Mix has confirmed the departure of member Jesy Nelson.
  • In November, the group revealed that Jesy had taken an "extended break" from Little Mix due to "private medical reasons".
  • In a new message shared with fans on Monday, Little Mix said they were "incredibly sad" about the 29-year-old's departure.
  • The three remaining members of the group will continue to make music together.

Just one month after announcing that Jesy Nelson was on an "extended break" from Little Mix, the group has now confirmed that the 29-year-old will not be returning.

Jesy was missing from Little Mix's performance at the 2020 EMAs as well as the final episode of their BBC One talent show, Little Mix: The Search.

A press statement at the time revealed that Jesy was taking some time off due to "private medical reasons".

Now, in a message shared on their social media accounts, Little Mix has confirmed Jesy's departure from the group.

"After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy. We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being," the post reads.

The three remaining members, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, will continue to make music together.

"We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over. We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us. We're looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour."
