Beyoncé has dropped the first single from her upcoming seventh album, Renaissance.

According to Billboard, the 40-year-old released Break My Soul at 22:00 on Monday, three hours before the announced release.

The song, which samples Show My Love by Robin S, features New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia and herald's that Bey is back.

"Imma let down my hair/'Cause I lost my mind/Bey is back I'm sleeping real good at night", she sings in the second verse.

"Motivation/I done find me a new foundation/I'm taking my new salvation/Imma build me own foundation."

"It feels surreal to be on the track with the Queen Beyoncé once again," wrote Freedia on Twitter shortly after the song's release.

She continued, "I'm so honoured to be a part of this special moment. I'm forever grateful; lord, someone, please catch me."

Renaissance will be Beyoncé's first studio album since Lemonade, released in 2016. According to Variety the album will feature dance and country songs. The album will be released on 29 July.
