Nick Jonas has once again ventured out on his own, releasing a new solo project titled Spaceman.
The 28-year-old dropped the title track from the project on Friday. Speaking to Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Nick said that Spaceman captures the feelings we've all been going through while in isolation during the pandemic.
"The key for me was just trying to find a way to give this idea a persona; give it a name. So Spaceman kind of came into my mind 'cause I was thinking, what's the one thing that all of us have felt during this time? It's just completely disconnected from the world. We've gotten so accustomed to looking at a screen instead of human interaction. The thing that keeps us all encouraged and hopeful is just the idea of knowing that there will be a tomorrow when this isn't our reality. And I think that the body of work as a whole kind of tracks that."
The star also mentioned that most of his songs are "pretty much just love letters" to his wife Priyanka Chopra, Billboard reports.
Sharing a message on Instagram, Nick wrote: "So excited to be starting this journey with all of you. I made this album while doing what most of us have been doing during this past year, sitting at home getting used to the new normal and hoping for better days ahead. There are four central themes we will explore on this album... Distance. Indulgence. Euphoria. Commitment."
He added: "Music has always connected the world and helped us to heal. I hope this music helps you on your journey through space and time... Thank you."
Nick's last solo project was his 2016 album, Last Year Was Complicated.
In 2019, the singer reunited with his siblings Joe and Kevin to bring back their band The Jonas Brothers, releasing an album titled Happiness Begins.
Spaceman (the album) will be available from 12 March.
