The Weeknd is Spotify's most-streamed artist this month, knocking fellow Canadian, Justin Bieber, off the top spot.

According to NME, after releasing his new album, Dawn FM, in early January, The Weeknd has raked in 85 667 564 monthly listeners on Spotify - the highest of any artist right now.

The previous holder of that title was Justin Bieber, who, the publication reports, held the top spot for nearly a year.

Justin is still, however, the first-ever artist to achieve more than 90 million monthly listeners on the music streaming platform, which he scored in December.

Dawn FM, which includes the single Take My Breath, serves as The Weeknd's follow-up to his critically acclaimed album, After Hours
