Coldplay have announced the release of their ninth studio album, titled Music of the Spheres (vol.i).

The band shared the announcement on social media in a note to fans, revealing that the record was produced by Max Martin and will be out on 15 October.

A trailer for the album was also released, titled Overtura

An official tracklist was also revealed, with some song titles shown as emojis, including a heart, ringed planet, infinity sign and earth emoji. 

In their note, Coldplay also mentions that their next single, Coloratura, will be out on Friday, with a third single expected to be released in September. 

The first single from the album, Higher Power, was released in May and premiered upon the International Space Station.
