Whitney Houston's iconic cover of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You has been certified Diamond in America.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) made the announcement on Thursday, sharing a post on social media.

To reach diamond status, a song has to sell/stream 10 million units.

According to Billboard, this achievement earns Whitney her fourth RIAA diamond certification, and also marks her first single to reach diamond status - her previous three certifications have been for albums The Bodyguard (movie soundtrack), Whitney Houston and Whitney.

Whitney recorded her version of I Will Always Love You in 1992 for her film The Bodyguard. The original song was recorded by Dolly Parton in 1974.
