Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi turned 27 on Friday, and here are 7 photos celebrating her birthday.

Zozi is celebrating her birthday on home soil, after social distancing in New York.

On Sunday, Zozibini revealed on Instagram, that she back in her hometown, Sidwadweni, Tsolo in the Eastern Cape "for a very short while," adding: "being home will always be restoration of the soul."

Speaking to Channel24, the Miss South Africa organisation said: "Zozibini is back in South Africa on a short private holiday." It is unclear whether she will be joining this year's Miss South Africa top 10 finalists, as they prepare for the grand finale, being hosted in Cape Town later this year.

Zozi won over the world, and inspired women across the globe during the final round of Miss Universe questions when she was asked what we should be teaching young girls today. "I think we are the most powerful beings in the world, and that we should be given every opportunity. And that is what we should be teaching these young girls - to take up space," she told Steve Harvey.

Throughout her reign (albeit a virtual one), Zozibini has made the country proud, speaking out against gender-based violence and encouraging women to "take up space".

And just like the night she was crowned Miss Universe, Zozibini trended on social media on Friday, as the Twittersphere was flooded with special birthday messages.
