Award-winning DJ and entrepreneur Ntombezinhle 'DJ Zinhle' Jiyane says she is excited to be Bongani 'MurdahBongz' Mohosana's wife.
"I'm excited to be his wife," Jiyane said in the first episode of season 2 of her reality show, DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected, which premiered on BET Africa (DStv 129) over the weekend.
The DJ let viewers in on her and Mohosana tying the knot during a conversation with her friend and business partner, Brandon Reynolds. Jiyane and Mohosana tied the knot six months in a "small thing" with family at her home in KwaZulu-Natal.
"Bongani and his family came to my family home to negotiate my bride price, and we decided that it should be a small thing with just family and Bongani's family," she said in a confessional during the episode.
In the first season of the reality show, the mother of two was adamant she did not want to get married. "I've just never had the ambitions to get married. I never wanted it, and I felt like I was never with anyone I wanted to marry, but Bongani and I spent a lot of time talking about it and what we want to do."
While the fashion accessory brand founder might have done a 360 on marriage, she said she was excited about the new chapter in her life. "We're excited to try something I never would've thought would happen for me."
The newlyweds welcomed their first child together, Asante Thandokuhle Mohosana, in September 2021. Jiyane shares daughter, Kairo Forbes, with rapper Kiernan Forbes, better known as AKA.
In an interview with Channel24 ahead of the premiere of the new season, the 38-year-old said that filming a reality series was not easy and that she relies on the support of Mohosana and her family.
"It is not easy to juggle the work and the kids, especially because I feel like I am working harder than I've ever worked in my life. We are working so much. With that, I rely on the support from my boyfriend, family and friends to help me with the load. It literally takes a village, especially in my life," she said.
