Multi-award-winning South African stage and TV actor Jamie Bartlett has died. He was 55.
A family member confirmed Bartlett's death to eNCA (DStv 403) on Monday night. No other information regarding the actor's death has been announced.
While many knew him from his stage performances at the Market Theatre, as Mike O'Reilly in Isidingo or as David Genaro in Rhythm City, Bartlett's breakout role was in the US film American Ninja 2: The Confrontation in 1987.
Between theatre productions, international films, and local TV series, Bartlett's career in the industry has spanned over 35 years, with multiple awards under his belt.
