  • Huawei Joburg Day with 947 returns with a first-ever hybrid event on Friday, 22 October.
  • A limited number of listeners will be lucky enough to experience the event in person as VIPs.
  • This year's line-up include Goldfish, Matthew Mole, Shekhinah, Nasty C, Prince Kaybee and DBN Gogo.

Mark your calendar! Radio station 947 has announced the line-up for the first-ever hybrid Huawei Joburg Day with 947.

Huawei Joburg Day with 947 is an iconic event and the biggest bi-annual music extravaganza in South Africa, successfully transferring to a virtual space for the two most recent events.

This October will be the first time the event is hosted in a hybrid format, with a limited number of listeners lucky enough to experience the event in person as VIPs.

Thando Makhunga, Station Manager of 947, shares the good news: "We're super excited to announce that Goldfish will be joining the event for a virtual set from San Diego. They haven't been back to SA since their last show at the end of 2019, so this is great news for music lovers in Gauteng and the whole of South Africa. The event will be live-streamed on YouTube, so the whole country is invited to experience an explosion of new talent, lifestyle, fashion and South Africa's finest musicians."

The artist line-up, as announced on-air, is:

  • Goldfish
  • Matthew Mole
  • Shekhinah
  • Nasty C
  • Prince Kaybee
  • DBN Gogo

For the first time in the history of Huawei Joburg Day, a mix of fashion, design, entertainment and music will be included in the hybrid event. This follows an intensive on-air talent search on 947, where listeners had the opportunity to showcase their creativity in various fields. This included fashion and sneaker design, radio presenting and music. The winners in all categories will share the stage on the day with the top-class line-up.

947 and Huawei are working with Alliance Safety to ensure all Covid-protocols are adhered to on the day.

Huawei Joburg Day with 947 happens on Friday, 22 October. The entire event can be experienced free on 947.co.za and listened to live on 947. A limited number of listeners will be able to join the artists live to experience the event in person. Find out more on 947.co.za
