Lasizwe Dambuza has deleted all social media accounts, saying: "I've lost my true authentic self."

On Tuesday, in a series of tweets, reality TV star Lasizwe said: "I have become fake and plastic. The fame monster has gotten hold of me."

He asked the country to pray for him, saying that he has deleted all social media accounts and was "beginning a journey of self-discovery."

Lasizwe started his career in the spotlight as a YouTuber and has garnered more than 12.5 million views on his videos. In April 2019, he received the silver play button from YouTube for reaching 100 000 subscribers.

Lasizwe went on to secure several TV appearances and commercials, as well as land a presenter gig on Touch HD.

Lerato Kganyago offered advice in the comment section on the post, writing: "The most important thing in life is when we realize our flaws, and rectify them. Not many will admit how this monster called entertainment industry can change us, not many are able to see and rectify. Pray to GOD to get rid of the patterns you find toxic but most importantly to GET RID of those that are toxic AROUND YOU, because this too plays a major role. Protect your peace even if it means isolating yourself for a while. You will come out bigger and stronger. GOD knows your heart, and we will be right here waiting for you[sic]."
