Shockwaves were sent across the country on Monday when news broke about the death of iconic actor Shaleen Surtie-Richards.

The 66-year-old was reportedly found dead in a guest house in Cape Town on Monday.

Shaleen was known for embodying iconic characters, which include Fiela in the 1998 film Fiela se Kind and the role of Ester Willemse in Egoli: Place of Gold.
