Miss Guam World 2012, Jeneva Kristina Bosko, faces a felony charge for allegedly trying to strangle a woman.
Jeneva represented Guam at the 2012 Miss World pageant hosted in China, which saw the host country's Wenxia Yu crowned the winner.
The Guam Daily Post reports that an assault complaint was made against the 30-year-old former beauty queen on Saturday. According to reports, a witness told responding officers that Jeneva had "beat up" the victim.
She allegedly entered the victim's bedroom, pushed the woman backwards onto a bed and punched her in the face numerous times.
According to a declaration from the Office of the Attorney General, Jeneva "placed her hands around the victim's neck, squeezing, but is stopped by (a witness) who is able to get the defendant off of the victim".
Court documents obtained by The Guam Daily Post reveal that Jeneva is currently an outpatient at Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center and told officers "that she recently changed her (medication) and that she 'felt violent' that morning".
She has been charged with attempted strangulation as a third-degree felony and two counts of family violence as misdemeanours.
